Getting started
Add your first field
Add a Bynder picture, video, audio or document field to a content type and pick an asset.
-
Open Content-Type Builder and choose a content type (or create one).
-
Click Add another field, open the Custom tab, and pick Bynder Picture.
-
Give the field a name, for example
cover. Under Advanced settings you can mark it required or unique. Click Finish, then Save. Strapi restarts. -
Open Content Manager, create an entry, and click the field. The Bynder picker opens in a window. Choose an asset.
-
The asset shows as a preview in the form. Save and publish the entry.
The four fields
| Field | Lets the editor pick | Picker step |
|---|---|---|
| Bynder Picture | Images | Choose a file version of the asset (can be turned off) |
| Bynder Video | Videos | Whole asset |
| Bynder Audio | Audio files | Whole asset |
| Bynder Document | Documents | Whole asset |
There is also a generic Bynder field that accepts any asset type. It is kept for content types created before the typed fields existed. Prefer the typed fields in new work.
What is stored
The field is a text field that holds one URL: the file the editor chose in Bynder. Nothing is uploaded to Strapi. See Stored value.
Continue with pictures, video and audio.
